PENDANT FRIHAVNSTÅRNET, NORDHAVN, COPENHAGEN
Praksis Arkitekter is behind the extensive transformation of one of the DLG silos in Nordhavn, which has been converted into an 11-story residential building and now stands as a landmark in Copenhagen’s new district. The project was awarded the Betonelement Prize in 2017.
For this transformation, Okholm Lighting supplied large outdoor pendants that appear simple yet innovative. The pendants feature a sleek, conical high-format lamp housing, complementing the building’s tall concrete walls and giving the covered areas a distinct character.
The PENDANT FRIHAVNSTÅRNET is a large, modern, and architecturally designed pendant for outdoor spaces, such as passages and covered areas, where it discreetly and decoratively illuminates the mounting surface, enhancing the spatial experience. The conical lamp housing integrates well into modern architecture, harmonizing with colonnaded walkways and reinforcing the architectural language.
