OKHOLM LIGHTING APPOINTS LIGHTING ARCHITECT

Karsten Mikkelsen has joined Okholm Lighting as Lighting Architect. With his architectural background and many years of experience in the lighting industry, he will strengthen the company’s consultancy services and collaboration with architects, clients and other project partners.

Karsten Mikkelsen studied at Aarhus School of Architecture and holds a master’s degree in industrial design. He joins Okholm Lighting with experience from Louis Poulsen and Lampas – two companies that have each contributed to the development of Danish architectural lighting.

As Lighting Architect, Karsten will help connect architecture, lighting technology, product development and production. He can become involved from the earliest concept and planning stages and follow projects through the selection and development of solutions, documentation, production and implementation.

His appointment will also strengthen Okholm Lighting’s personal and continuous project consultancy. The aim is to work even more closely with projects and project partners – particularly when a project requires more than a standard solution.

“We want to do more than simply supply a luminaire. We want to help develop the right solution and provide qualified advice on architecture, lighting technology and production. Karsten’s education and experience strengthen the connection between these areas,” says Peter Okholm.

Karsten will join Okholm Lighting’s project team in Tønder and work closely with the company’s specialists in lighting technology, product development and production.
